Commercials Producer turned feature film Director is an unusual route to film directing, but Toby’s career has encompassed almost every aspect of production from acting on the west end stage in Alan Bennet’s “40 years on” to being the video coordinator for Madonna’s “Truth or Dare”, Peter Gabriel’s “Secret World”, and the Spice Girls’ “Spice World”. He worked as 1st AD on feature films and commercials, and Directed of a number of highly successful music videos including the Divine Comedy’s “Pop Singer’s Fear of the Pollen Count” and “Gin Soaked Boy”. His eclectic career also includes screenwriting on Miramax’s “Modesty Blaise” and “Hell Hath Enlarged Herself” for the UK Film Council & Capitol Films. Currently, Toby is the Executive Producer for DLKWLowe across the Unilever Brands including Domestos, Cif, Sure and Signal. Toby is currently developing several projects including “Man without a Shadow”, an adaptation of Colin Wilson’s 1957 bestseller and “Hell Hath Enlarged Herself” adapted from the short story by Michael Marshall Smith.
